Yesterday morn, Patrick and I took a break from our computer science to grab some coffee at Dunn's. Of course, we had to stay there to drink it: I have beans from Dunn's here in my room, so I can have the coffee any time I want. The only point in buying coffee there is to purchase a piece of the commodified cafe culture, which can only be achieved by imbibing my caffeine on location.

At any rate, we found a most wonderful treasure while perusing the stacks of free periodicals and concert handbills. Here's some sample text from this enlightening brochure:

REACH FOR THE SUN

LIVE YOUR IDEAL LIFE

CALL A LIFE COACH

LIVE WITH PASSION

LIVE YOUR DREAM

Linda R______, LIFE COACH

And, in case you didn't realize, "Your time is running out! You could be living the life of your dreams. You can have the type of relationship you want, you can be filled with passion when you wake up in the morning, work can be deeply satisfying and each day filled with new excitement."

I think I've found my desired vocation- I should be a life coach and have brochures filled with stock photography of sunsets and cliched motivational phrases! I can hardly wait.

[...]

I've developed the disturbing pattern of waking up at 7 am for the past few days: I take a shower right away (no lines!) and am at breakfast when it opens at 7:30. I feel very productive merely by virtue of the fact that I'm up so early, but then I get so tired at night that I can't get a thing done. Thank goodness I have nothing left but exams- I can cease this weird sleeping schedule and go back to staying up till all hours of the night.
