My books arrived from Powell's the other day, too soon. I had planned on not getting them till Tuesday, and there was a reason for that- I still have work to do. One 15-page paper, one one-page paper (totally useless), and about half of a website to go until my semester is over. The books, however, are tempting me now. I actually started reading one of them in a moment of free time (and, apparently, insanity) last night, and now I'm thoroughly hooked.

I had a horrifying pregnancy dream last night. Being pregnant, as I might have mentioned before, is possibly the most terrifying thing I can concieve of. To have this little parasitic thing inside you, sucking up nutrients, stretching your form into unnatural shapes, and plotting to push painfully out of an orifice that is far too small, is nightmare material, as far as I'm concerned. It was my due date in my dream, and labor hadn't started yet. All I can remember is that I was paranoid and completely freaking out about the unpleasantness I knew was about to ensue.

I ran into Kati and Gina on my way back from an errand a little while ago, and while we walked together I told them about my dream. Gina immediately got to the heart of the matter: "That was quite the finals anxiety dream you had, Kristin."

Oh...

[...]

I should be working on that 15-page paper, but all I really want to do is take a bath. Because I finished all the work for two of my classes Friday, my subconscious has locked into "it's time for a break" mode. My subconscious, sadly, is really quite deluded. However, it seems to have entirely taken over my functioning, as today I:

  • Slept late
  • Made french toast with Lauren
  • Lingered over said french toast for an hour
  • Read today's Star Tribune, today's NY Times, and yesterday's NY Times
  • Read 50 pages of my new book
  • Watched half of a corny Star Trek movie
  • Emailed a few people
  • Found a few new journals to read
  • Fooled around with the upcoming redesign
  • Made actual food for dinner
  • DID NOT DO ANY SCHOOL WORK

I can be such a dork sometimes.
